Camp Pendola, one of my all time favorite places, is where I spent my summer vacations from college working as a camp counselor and arts and crafts teacher. The old oak tree and buildings shown in this painting are remnants of the lumber mill that formerly occupied the site. The camp is located within hiking distance of the North Fork of the Yuba River, which is the subject of many of my paintings.
